This message is all about sharing information so that our region can make the most of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and other federal funding.
Upcoming Deadlines
The EDA Good Jobs Challenge application deadline is extended until February 10th.
Federal Funding News – National
Funding Opportunity! The U.S. Department of Transportation Department opened the process for local and state governments to apply for the $1.5 billion RAISE program (formerly known as TIGER grants). The deadline is April 14th.
Tracking ARPA. Brookings introduced a new tool called the Local Government ARPA Investment Tracker, which compiles information from local governments to offer a detailed picture of how large cities and counties are deploying the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund dollars.
Federal Funding News – Minnesota
Edina Internet. Free High-Speed Internet will be available for up to 2,100 households in 2022 using ARPA Funds.
Scott County website. Earlier this week, Scott County published a webpage about ARPA, including past and future activities.
Community funding. The City of Brooklyn Park issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for community organizations responding to the public health emergency or negative economic impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as advancing inclusive economic development. The application deadline is today, February 4th at 5:00pm.
Burnsville Priorities. Burnsville is allocating ARPA dollars based on community feedback using a public poll earlier this year; “Sustainability” was the top priority among community participants.
State ARPA money. The Governor's Council on Economic Expansion met on January 31st to work on Phase II recommendations for allocating state ARPA funds.
